The
New Jersey weightlifting web site
is the official web site of the New Jersey Local weightlifting
Committee (LWC) of USAWeightlifting which is the national governing
body of the sport in this country. Competitive weightlifting consists
of the snatch and clean & jerk.
This
site will contain
information of interest to the weightlifter about the sport in the
state of New Jersey. Records, pictures, the Hall of Fame, entries and
results will be included. Clubs, athletes, and coaches will be featured
from time to time. Please forward any suggestions or ideas to the
webmaster.
NEXT
CONTEST - The 2008 Garden State Games will be held on Saturday, June
28
in
Moorestown. An application, directions and other info can be
downloaded by clicking on "2008 GSG App" on the menu. Hope
to see you
there!
Final
reminder...the only Regional Coach course ever offered outside of
Colorado Springs will be hosted by the Moorestown Weightlifting Club,
as well. Go to the USAW site for more info on that. The GSG
will be the kick-off for the course
Weightlifting teams currently
enjoying a great deal of success in NJ are Team New Jersey and the FDU
Devils who train at FDU in Madison, Les Petites Animeaux out of
Flemington and East Coast Gold out of Moorestown. Other
weightlifting teams abound, however, and there are also some very good
teams located in Vineland, North Bergen and Hillsborough.
